According to a few sources, it seems that Toshiba is about to stop all production of HD DVD players and their work in that format altogether. This looks to be the final straw that tips things in favor of Blu-Ray. Ok, so if Blu-Ray has won the war, what does that mean for us? This should mean that more and more Blu-Ray titles will be released as numerous companies had been waiting to see which format would win. Some think this could lead to lower prices, but a lack of competition could even drive prices up a bit. Time will tell.
Will we see the Star Wars saga on Blu-Ray soon? Being that this Toshiba business is just happening, it might be a bit before we hear something official, but it's a step in the right direction.
