"On November 14, 2009, members of the 501st Nordic Garrison made history as they trooped the first official event in Russia at the request of Hasbro Toys. Vader and two Stormtroopers greeted more than 1500 fans at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the massive Fairytale Toy Store near Moscow's Red Square. Although there was some concern from local militia when the Empire's minions made a brief unscheduled appearance in front of St. Basil's Cathedral, the Legion's first foray into the former Soviet Union was a great success.
