Star Wars Is Everywhere: Episode XIII

Posted By Mike on July 18, 2010

We're into baker's dozen territory with our 13th edition of Star Wars is Everywhere. Sit back, relax and enjoy some random, and not-so-random, links.

Lets begin this edition of Star Wars is Everywhere with a couple of pop culture Star Wars references on TV during the past week. Both come courtesy of the Official Starwars.com Blog. Seven years old at the time, Nolan took in a screening of "Star Wars." Nothing was ever the same.

"That completely changed movies for me," he told MTV News. "It changed everything, really."

Nolan had never seen a film that was so, well, intricately woven and epically scaled as George Lucas' space odyssey. "It created a world that lived on in your mind after you saw the film and seemed to have this limitless potential," he said."

Star Wars has been everywhere as far as I can remember (at least in my own head it was). But back in the mid '90s, it was just a little more difficult to see Star Wars being everywhere than it is today. July 15th marked the 15th anniversary of Star Wars Online and SW.com pays tribute with a lovely scan of the old homepage along with an excerpt from Star Wars: Year by Year.
