Yesterday's announcement that Disney is buying Lucasfilm for $4 billion and producing new Star Wars movies naturally set the Internet ablaze. Below, we've collected some of the web's best articles about the landmark acquisition.

Check back regularly as we update this post with the latest reactions from around the web.

Wired also posted a few analysis pieces about the deal, including Lucasfilm's value to Disney and Disney's value to the Star Wars franchise. In addition, Ben Parr from CNET weighed in on Lucasfilm's prospects under its new mouse overlords.

Geoff Boucher over at Entertainment Weekly talked to a number of famous Hollywood directors who grew up with Star Wars to get their take on this news. "The Star Wars franchise is nothing short of a generational touchstone," said Shawn Levy, who directed Real Steel and the Night at the Museum movies. "I literally can't think of any comparable cultural phenom that has so pervasively shaped and galvanized viewers to the extent that Star Wars has."

From the gaming corner, Digital Spy highlighted the fact that Disney now also owns LucasArts and its new flagship project Star Wars 1313. What will become of 1313 and other LucasArts operations? Click through to learn more.

In case you were curious, George Lucas still owns the land that he purchased in Marin County, California. The San Francisco Chronicle wrote about how Lucas' rural California properties will fit into the Disney acquistion.

I have to give a special shout-out to Brian Truitt, Bryan Alexander, and Marco Della Cava for their USA TODAY article collecting the reactions of a few Star Wars "luminaries" -- in addition to me! You can check out my comments, as well as reactions from the likes of Ahmed Best and Daniel Logan, right here. Tami Katzoff from MTV News also interviewed me, along with Bryan Young of fan site BigShinyRobot!, about what this means for Star Wars fans.
