On Location: Part 7
Color Me Star Wars

Summary by: Don Keefe

(Please note that the following comments are my opinions and speculations regarding the production of Episode II and do not necessarily reflect those of TheForce.net)

This ?On Location? clip was introduced by another actress I didn?t recognize. As I have mentioned earlier this place must be a main feature in the upcoming film. They most likely shot these intros at the same time and they just apply them to the beginning of these clips. If you notice the background behind these intros the actresses are standing in the same spot. Maybe they are all

This was a very interesting 1 minute and 26 sec clip. Ahmed begins by saying they are at an undisclosed location on the Star Wars lot. I think it?s one of the stages of Fox Studio?s Australia. They are actually on a set that is being created. If you look in the background of these pictures you can see the set they are painting for use in Episode II. It looks to be a corridor of some sort. Perhaps it?s the interior of a ship? You can also see what may be a prop to Ahmed?s right. Some sort of gold colored cylinder, although it could just be a paint bucket. =)

This is Jill Passkets (sorry Jill if I misspelled your name). When Ahmed asked what she does she replies that she is a painter. Ahmed asks what kind of painter she replies a messy painter. She is actually a set painter that works with Gavin Bouquet.

group in designing the sets for Episode II. If you look behind them you can see the set they are working on. It appears to be two different wall sections. One is the white with blue border which is short lengthwise the other is sort of tan and dark brown color which looks to be longer. If you notice also it covers the ceiling as well indicating that it?s a corridor. I wouldn?t say it?s a room because it appears too narrow.

Ahmed: How long does it takes to paint a set?

Jill: It depends on how fast you work.

Ahmed: How fast do you work?

Jill: Very fast.

Ahmed also asks if she does any other kind of painting. She says she does fine art painting. She paints different kinds of murals on walls for people?s homes and also regular paintings as well as portraits. She says she?s quite good at it. Ahmed also asks how she got here. She says by plane. =) She?s very witty. She has an English accent so I?m wondering if she?s from Leavesden studios in England.

At this point Ahmed asks her to show the audience her dirty hands from painting.

She then shows her belly button which also has paint on it.

Ahmed says ?We can?t show that, it?s not that kind of website!?

Another thing I noticed is the badges that they are wearing are different than the JAK ones we?ve seen earlier. They are purple and green. Unfortunately the camera moves too quickly to get a clean picture. Hopefully well get a better shot in an upcoming clip.

The closing shot. You can see from this pulled back shot a better view of the set wall. You can see also against the brick it looks like they are building something out of wood, possibly a bench or part of the wall. It will be cool to see this in Ep2. When your watching the film in 2002 you can say hey I remember that from On Location.
