A quick newsflash to alert you to the existence of the 181st Imperial Discussion Group, a new project for fans of Star Wars novels on TF.N. Their mission brief: to strike back at the extensive roster of published Expanded Universe books, with members exchanging their opinions about each novel, and sharing their thoughts on its place within the Star Wars mythos and its connections with other stories, before and since.
Named in honour of the Empire's legendary 181st Fighter Group, the Discussion Group proposes to re-read a different novel every month, and they launched their first attack run on Michael A. Stackpole's I, Jedi today.
Their commanding officer, beccatoria, is leading off her troops in this thread here. If you want to join in, head over there and slot your TIE Fighter into formation - or just fly by and take a look, even if you only want to read what other people have to say.
There's also a headquarters thread, here. You'll find message-boards moderators Havac and Master_Keralys serving tea and advice in the canteen.
Starting next month, the 181st will be launching a three-month deep-penetration mission into the Koornacht Cluster, over-flying the books of the Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy by Michael P. Kube-McDowell.
