Star Wars Missions #3
Attack on Delrakkin
by Ryder Windham

Published by Scholastic

Adrick's Rating:   1.8 out of 4

Imperial troops are bombarding the planet of Delrakkin—disguised as Rebel forces! The Empire wants the Rebel Alliance to be blamed for the attack. The Rebels must stop this evil deception. Your mission: to defend Delrakkin…and save the Rebellion.

May the Force be with you.

Adrick:

The Empire’s plot involving the contaminated bacta thickens…and we uncover the Empire’s purpose in attacking Delrakkin. Utilizing the gravity well generator, a technology common in later EU as a secret Imperial project in these books was a neat idea: unlike the Death Star or Dark Troopers, you know the Alliance won’t be able to end the Empire’s plans—really, the Rebels can’t keep every one of the Empire’s evil schemes from coming to fruition. It’s unfortunate that the EU has since disregarded the gravity well development as described in these books.

There’s also an amusing scene where the heroes find a tape containing the Emperor’s phone number. It’s that kind of thing that makes the Mission books worthwhile.

Adrick:

This book serves mainly to advance the story—of which there really isn’t a lot. So far, all we seem to have is an excuse to run around from planet to planet.

Adrick:

    Contaminated bacta. That’s just wrong..
