This book highlights the Star Wars artwork of Dave Dorman. Dorman has done the covers for the Young Jedi Knight series, many Dark Horse Comic covers, and numerous limited edition prints. This book shows his sketches, gives Dorman's commentary on the art, shows the evolution of the art, and the final product.

    Dave Dorman, in my opinion, has elevated himself into the ranks of top Star Wars artist such as Drew Struzan, Ralph McQuarrie, and John Alvin. This book is an excellent piece of work. Though you may already have the books these pieces come from, it is well worth the money to see the art uncluttered by titles. It is also interesting to see how the editors dictate their desires to Dorman and how the painting evolves. Dorman states his own opinion of his art and what his favorite pieces are. Plus, buying this book is cheaper than paying for Dorman's signed prints!

    I can't think of anything bad about this book. For once even I think the price is reasonable at $24.95!!

Scott:

    Dorman's original cover to the YJK series THE LOST ONES. It looks like a bad trip from the 60's. Dorman even says, "What was I thinking?" Fortunately, the editors had him change it!
