Star Wars Fan Records His Own Audiobook Narration Of Heir To The Empire

Posted by Josh on March 21, 2022 at 12:28 PM CST

Joshua Tatum is a lifelong Star Wars fan and audiophile. Part of Joshua’s job involves recording voice work and his passion for reading books has been evident from a young age. “I grew up with two younger brothers, and I’d often read books out loud to them." Joshua told TheForce.net."I’d come up with voices for all the characters to try and make things as authentic as possible. They would often say that my narration helped them to get invested in the books and inspired them to read as they got older.” His love of reading, particularly reading Star Wars books, led Joshua to start recording his readings from the Timothy Zahn classic, Heir to the Empire.

“For my first book, I wanted to choose one that I was passionate about, and that many of my family and friends have never read.” Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire impacted the Star Wars community in May of 1991 as the very first official Star Wars novel that continued the story of the infamous Luke Skywalker and his friends Leia Organa and Han Solo. “I’m doing this as a hobby, and not for profit. My intent isn’t to give out a “free book” but to create a different way for people to experience the story.”
