Have you ever wondered how to get what you want in life and look good doing it? Or how about finding your inner-rebel voice and taking on the system? Do you ever find yourself in a tricky situation and ask yourself, "what would Leia do?" Well, wonder no longer, because starting today there’s help available!

On-sale now wherever you buy your books, from author Christian Blauvelt and DK Books, are two more editions from the “Be More…” series of self-help books, Star Wars style.

"Star Wars: Be More Lando” and “Star Wars: Be More Leia” pick up right where the previous two, “Be More Vader” and “Be More Yoda” left off, offering real-world, sometimes anecdotal advice using familiar Star Wars axioms and vernacular from two legends of the Star Wars galaxy.

Here are the summary’s...

Be More Lando Star Wars

Be More Lando

As the galaxy's resident wheeler-dealer, Lando has lots of useful advice for the business novice. If you're setting up a start-up and want to know how to win over investors, when to back away from a deal, or how to gamble away the fastest starship in the galaxy, this is the book for you! With additional tips from other galactic scoundrels, including Han Solo, Jabba the Hutt, Watto, Qi'ra and even some sound business advice from Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, you'll be well and truly equipped to grow your amazing new venture and win at life!

Star Wars Be More Leia

Be More Leia

General. Senator. Princess. Rebel. Feminist icon. Leia Organa is a legendary Star Wars symbol of what it means to stand up for yourself and fight for what you believe in - no matter the personal cost. As the figurehead of the Rebellion and Resistance, and a prime example of an individual succeeding in a tyrannical workplace, Leia's name is synonymous with courage, grit and conviction. Whether she is refusing to comply with Darth Vader's demands, evading the wrathful clutches of the Empire or rescuing her friends from the Death Star, Leia is not afraid to challenge those in positions of authority and power. Filled with inspiring advice from Leia and other heroes - Rey, Padmé, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Jyn and many more - this book provides thoughtful and funny reflections on independence, staying true to yourself and challenging the status quo.

Like I said, these books mirror the first two both tonally and stylistically, and all four contain exactly 65-pages worth of sage advice, told through the lens of these legendary characters. Where Yoda and Vader lack in panache, offering steelier and more pragmatic advice, Lando and Leia have style and idealism to spare.

These are two unique characters with untold entrepreneurial and diplomatic experience, and again, unlike Yoda and Vader, have the wardrobe to match. So, it makes sense they should be the subjects for a Tony Robbins “be the person you want to be” type of self-help book, but it’s nowhere near as lifeless as those are.

In the case of “Be More Lando”, you’ll learn how to “perfect your business persona”, “network”, and even how to “enjoy your success”, all while dressing to impress. With “Be More Leia”, you’ll gain valuable insight into “defining your goals”, “forging your own path”, and “leading with confidence”, all while redefining how others think a princess, senator, or general should behave!

These books look great on the shelf and here’s hoping they approve some additional volumes for Christian, who is eager to write more. Speaking with him recently, we discussed which other characters would make great givers of advice, and while there are some obvious ones such as Kenobi, Thrawn, or Tarkin, he would love to see a character like Watto get a chance to share some pearls of wisdom. Great choice. We also discussed which characters would make terrible consultants, advisors, and mentors, but that’s for another time!

What’s great about these books, is the advice is always offset by familiar quotes and faces from the greater Star Wars galaxy, so you’re never totally alone. Padmé Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Rey, Maz Kanata, Dryden Vos, they’re all there to get the point across. This helps maintain the balance of feeling instructional, with fun and creativity, keeping the connection to Star Wars alive and always present.

It is important to remember that these bits of advice are sincere, and even though they are in-universe in nature, are easily applicable to real-life scenarios. Whether it’s in the workplace environment, or while navigating your way through social constructs, the teachings in these books are legitimately helpful. And when you dress them up with the imaginative world of Star Wars, well, you’ve got a winner!

So, if you’re like me and don’t really have an affinity towards the self-help section at the bookstore but love Star Wars, these books just might cure what ails you. I suggest you give them a try, at the very least you’ll have fun doing it!

And who knows, you just might find what you’re looking for!
