Sega's Star Wars Racer Arcade Posted By Joshua on July 4, 2000
Mat Simpson of Gaming Exchange recently got an early look at Sega's Star Wars Racer Arcade which is currently on test in a central London arcade. They've nabbed some really great shots of the game in action if you want to check them out.
UPDATE We have received word of the Racer arcade being spotted in Rhode Island, Pittsburgh and Chicago!
Nicholas DePetrillo was the first to report on the game's stateside appearance:
My friend who works at a National Amusements SHOWCASE movie theater says that his theater has the racer arcade machine. The machine i see in these pictures fits the EXACT description of the one he gave me, now thats in london and I am in Rhode Island. Thats pretty weird.
Then Rich "Gembot" Romasanta chimed in:
Just an FYI, You have an article saying that the Star Wars racer Arcade game is being tested in London.Well, I live in Chicago (suburbs) and two days ago (July 2nd) My local movie theater had the game and I saw it being played. (I didn't have time to play). It looked really cool with two throttles and stunning graphics. So I'm not sure that London is the only place testing the game out. Here is the info on the theater if you want to check it out.
Gembot further reports that the theater is the South Barrington AMC 30.
We also have this from Bob Raspet in Pittsburgh:
Just read the July 4 posting on the Racer arcade game being tested in London. Well, they just put a Dave & Busters chain in Pittsburgh, and there were 4 Racer games lined against the wall. The response to the game was great with lines 2-3 people deep at each "pod" on the weekend. There were 4 sit down trilogy games next to the Racer games and these were equally as crowded! So, if you have a D&B chain near you, you might want to give it a try!
Thanks to everyone who's reported! We will have a review up shortly. In the meantime, if you've also spotted the Racer arcade game in your neighborhood, write in and let us know!
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
