The Jedi Assembly Reports A Successful Star Wars Celebration VI Posted By Mike on September 10, 2012
So how did Star Wars Celebration VI go for our friends in the Jedi Assembly? Once again it seems as if a good time was had by all...
TJA Reports a Successful Celebration
The Jedi Assembly is proud to report a most successful Star Wars Celebration! At this convention, TJA not only raised $500 for charity, but also inducted our FIRST four Honorary Members!
Inducted into The Jedi Assembly were James Arnold Taylor (voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi and many others in "The Clone Wars"), Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahsoka Tano in "The Clone Wars"), Amy Allen (Aayla Secura) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).
TJA also raised $500 for the Vasculits Foundation (www.vasculitisfoundation.org) and the Psoriasis Foundation, which are two familes of autoimmune disease that directly affect members of TJA and are often overlooked and little known. Through TJA's Holocron Hunt, players tracked down Jedi throughout the hallway in order to procure the stickers theyt needed to complete the Holocron. Once completed, players returned to the TJA table to receive a crystal to complete the Holocron. They were then entered into a drawing for wither a child's size Jedi costume with belt, robe and lightsaber; or a Master Replicas Force FX lightsaber. After the Hunt, the Holocrons themselves were available for a small donation.
Members of TJA also had a great time reuniting with one another, talking about costuming, admiring each others grab, eating breakfast as a group, hanging out and reporting to others who were unable to attend. Another highlight was participating in the "Meet the Fan Clubs" panel hosted by Daniel Logan and participating in the linking of hands between the heads of five major costuming fan groups.
The Jedi Assembly is a worldwide fan-based group for Star Wars light-side Jedi costuming enthusiasts. It is our intent to further enhance the Star Wars fantasy by recreating Jedi costumes for our enjoyment as well as others. We encourage screen-accurate Jedi costumers as well as novice costumers to join and share their knowledge with others.
