Summary

AT-ATs bear down on Luke's speeder as he runs back to it to retrieve a harpoon gun and explosives, barely avoiding the Walker as it crushes the speeder and Dack's body. Firing the harpoon at the AT-AT's belly, he ascends the cable, cuts through with his lightsaber, and throws a concussion charge inside, exploding it from within. As Echo Base collapses around them, Han finds Leia and 3PO in the control center and convinces them to come with him. A cave-in prevents them from getting to a transport, so Han takes them to the Falcon and tells Chewie to blast off. As the main generator fails, Vader and a Stormtrooper squad raid the base and prepare to shoot them, but the Falcon escapes in time. Outside, Wedge and other survivors board X-Wings and plan to meet at a rendezvous point, but Luke has other plans. Vader's troops report the base secured and the Falcon tracked, while in space, three Star Destroyers and several TIEs try to stop Han from leaving. He tricks two Destroyers into colliding, but when he tries to jump to lightspeed, nothing happens, and 3PO reports damage to the para-light system as the Avenger and the TIE's continue to attack. Luke tells R2 their X-Wing is headed for Dagobah, using the Force for navigation since it's not on any charts. Han and Chewie hurry to fix the ship, dodging Imperials. Coming upon Hoth asteroid field, Han pilots inside to lose the TIEs. Some follow and are hit by asteroids. Aboard Executor , Piett enters Vader's private meditation chamber to report status, shocked to briefly glimpse Vader unmasked before he dons his helmet and cape. Piett reports, but Vader takes no excuses and says to find Luke and the others soon. The last TIEs are destroyed, then Han hides the ship in a cave on a large asteroid, while on Dagobah, Luke's X-Wing's scopes are blinded by muck and tree cover. As he crashes into a swamp, Yoda watches from afar. EnsViews Comic Review
