Some interesting contributions that have to do with family matters':

"I read something twice on this sight that sparked my imagination.  queen
padme is from naboo.  senator palpatine is from naboo.  there was some
speculation that senator palpatine resorts to cloning to avert death
from a genetic flaw in his "race"?  then someone speculated that padme
dies on alderaan from the same genetic flaw.  suppose the flaw was not
racial, but familial.  suppose that naboo has a matriarchy, therefore,
no kings.  wouldn't it make sense that palpatine could be padme's
father.  it also would make his corruption of his son in law, anakin,
more significant.  given lucas' predilection for relying on common
sociological themes, fathers being possessive of their daughters being
one.  further supposition, where is padme's mother.  perhaps killed by
palpatine, to be revealed in episode ii.  that might make padme a more
pivotal character.

looks like i have built a speculative house of cards...care to knock it
down?"

"I've been reading about this character Ellie, and everyone keeps thinking she'll be Anakin's sister.  But then I read she'll be Princess Ellie, and people
still call her Anakin's sister.  What's going on here!  Anakin's no prince!
Some stories say he's even a slave, albiet a well-provided for slave given
the pics of his room.

So I was wondering, couldn't Ellie be Padme's little sister?  Now that's
is a big step of imagination, I admit, since there hasn't been any word of
Padme having a sibling, but I'll do you one better.  I wouldn't be
surprised if Ellie turns out to be Luke and Leia's mom.  I mean, we don't
KNOW that Padme will be the twins' mother, and given the age difference
between Padme and Anakin has been raising a lot of eye brows it could all
just be the result of uninformed speculation.  Of course that's exactly
what I'm doing, but what else can we do with out stealing Lucas's mind.
Personally, I figured that a character like Anakin, who would be
susceptable to the Dark Side, would also be one of those men that marries a
younger woman.  But then, that could easily lead to another weak female
character.

But I digress.  Consider the irony of Lucas casting a brother and sister
to play a future couple in his movies, and then...well you all know about
the Luke and Leia thing.  Couldn't you just see George doing something like that?  "

"What about the thought that Padme is the daughter of Palpatine.  It may sound far-fetched but bear with me.  It would make sense that it would take a strong influence to destroy a man like Anakin.  What if it were his father in law.  We can't assume he is not related to Padme, and according to most reports they are from the same planet.  It would seem that a strong love bond would really send Anakin into the dark side.  It appears that he has no father, only a mother.  Maybe Palpatine fills that void for him when he marries Padme.  He earns trust, he listens to advice, and he begins to listen to teachings and theories of Palpatine.  In the end, he is swayed and begins to turn.  Obi-Wan tries to set Anakin straight, but he takes it wrong and thinks that Obi-Wan is trying to turn him against his new family, including his bride.  It's interpretted as jealousy and it makes him even more angry and he turns even darker.  A battle ensues and we know what happens after that."

"Has it been officially confirmed that Padme IS the future mother of
Luke and Leia? She is called a 'Young Queen' by the official site, and I
have always thought she would be Leia's FOSTER mother. Hence the
'Princess' Leia, see?
The actual mother may not show up until Episode 2.
I realize this would completely blow many theories, but who knows?"

"As someone else pointed out, twins seem to run in the family; but only
as brother-sister
twins.(I forget right of the top of  my head what those are called.) For
instance Luke&Leia Skywalker, Jacen&Jaina Solo. Notice something here?
The first parts of their names sound alike (something Lucas appearantly
likes). So if Anakin had a twin also it probably wasn't Beru-that seems
kind of out there anyway-just look at the official site and
theforce.net;  remember Jake Lloyd's sister possibly being cast as a
character named ELLY? AND this character could be playing his SISTER!
Starting to get it?
Anakin&Elly, Luke&Leia, etc. Sure, they may not begin with they same
letter like the others but they still sound alike right? Also there is
speculation that Elly dies in ep.1 which would leave me jaded if my
sister died too. Besides, Owen being Ben's brother and then Beru being
Anakin's sister and them getting married would be WAY too wierd, even
for George Lucas. Of course, then there's Ben&Beru but that's retard,
that's incest, and the Skywalker family isn't THAT disfunctional.
I would really like to hear some thoughts and discussion on this topic,
makes sense to me, anyone else?"
