Catching Up With SW: The Old Republic

Posted By Mike on October 15, 2011

Let's start with the big news. SWTOR.com announced that the release dates for Star Wars: The Old Republic have shifted into a single date with both North American and European Territories now launching on December 20, 2011.

The Old Republic has landed at New York Comic Con and we're treated to a new gameplay trailer that debuted at the currently ongoing convention. Click here to check out "Signs of War."

Next up, SWTOR.com gives us an idea of what to expect from the new Operations Game System Page:

"Over the past several weeks we have talked more and more about Operations in Star Wars?: The Old Republic?. Operations are high-level, multi-group missions where you and your friends will face the most menacing threats in the galaxy. The new Game Systems page offers more details about Operations and offers a look at one of the Operations that you and your allies will be able to explore.

Head over to the new Games Systems page to read up on the content that players have to look forward to with Operations in The Old Republic, and be sure to check out the developer walkthrough for the Eternity Vault to get just a small sample of the challenges that await you."

For the last update from the official TOR site, you can click here for details on Star Wars: The Old Republic's presence at Paris Games Week (October 21 - 25).

And finally, PikiGeek points us to the MSNBC "In Game" video below in which an analyst prognosticates that while World of Warcraft will lose subscribers to The Old Republic at first, WOW will ultimately get those subscribers back in the long run.
