Matt Busch's First Independent Thriller Sets A New Record!

Posted By Dustin on March 29, 2006

Conjure

Studio City, CA-- CONJURE is the first full-length independent movie from renowned entertainment illustrator, Matt Busch. In addition to writing, producing, and directing the feature, Busch also plays himself along with fellow artist/model Sarah Wilkinson in this supernatural thriller. Just released on DVD March 28th from Razor Digital Entertainment, CONJURE had already shattered presale records, according to HorrorMovies.com.

Mostly known for his vast work with the STAR WARS universe, Busch has illustrated hundreds of products for other genre movies and properties, including LORD OF THE RINGS, THE CROW, THE MATRIX, G.I. JOE, THE HULK, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, CON-AIR, RESERVOIR DOGS, ROBOCOP, THE MUMMY, STARGATE SG-1, WITCHBLADE, and STAR TREK. Working so much on visual storytelling, both in print and behind the scenes on movies, Busch comments, "It was only a matter of time before I got behind a camera to make a movie myself."

The dark story-line behind CONJURE is unique, as it pits real-life artists Matt Busch and Sarah Wilkinson against the nightmares of their own creation. The movie has been described as an incredible cross-genre feature: a pseudo-documentary that's ultimately an intense supernatural thriller. Shot primarily in North Hollywood, California, and Busch's Planetmatt Studios in Macomb, Michigan, CONJURE boasts over 300 digital effect shots- unheard of for a relatively low budget independent movie. Presented in 1:1.85 Widescreen, the DVD itself is loaded with incredible Bonus Features, including a Making-Of
documentary, Behind-The-Scenes at the Premiere, Alternate Ending, Deleted Scenes, Interactive Sketchbook, and more.

Even before its official release, CONJURE has caused quite a stir in genre and pop culture circles. One of the websites offering the movie for presale during the last month, HorrorMovies.com, claims that CONJURE is now their highest pre-selling movie of all time. Glenn Young, owner of the site comments, "CONJURE is proof positive that indie horror is alive and well, setting a new presale record here at HorrorMovies.com."

The DVD is now available for rent and purchase everywhere, including the Amazon, Netflicks, Best Buy, Target, Borders, and Barnes & Nobel websites. At the Razor 3-D website, customers who purchase CONJURE will automatically be entered into a drawing where several lucky winners will receive a limited edition 25th Anniversary poster of STAR WARS: The Empire Strikes Back, signed and numbered by Matt Busch.
