Samuel L. To Lend His Voice To The Clone Wars?
Posted By Mike on April 30, 2008
Samuel L. Jackson recently spoke with MTV (most likely while promoting his and Hayden Christensen's new movie, Jumper) and The Clone Wars animated series came up. See below for what he had to say...which has me excited!
"And Sam Jackson sounds game to return.”Yeah, absolutely,” Jackson told MTV News today when asked if he’s interested in voicing the Mace Windu character in the new series. “I would love to,” Jackson said when asked if he’s ready to be the ill-fated Jedi warrior once again. Most exciting of all? Jackson confirmed that Lucas and company have expressed interest. “I have talked to them about it,” he said.”A lot of people love that character,” Jackson continued, pondering the continuing adventures of the only Jedi on record to wield a purple lightsaber."

UPDATE: Ulrich "Skylover" Decoster of the French fan site SithClan.net wrote in with some very interesting news. Apparently Samuel L. Jackson was in Paris last week to promote his new film Cleaner and Ulrich was lucky enough to speak with him and get a picture. When they spoke, according to Ulrich, Samuel L. confirmed that it was his voice we heard as Mace Windu in the leaked trailer for The Clone Wars. I'm guessing this is a one shot deal for the movie release and not necessarily the series, but seriously, how cool is this? More info as we get it, especially if we hear some sort of official confirmation.
It does make you wonder what other vocal surprises might be in store for us. Let the speculation continue...
Check out Ulrich's report here (in French) that includes his picture with Mr. Jackson. Big thanks to him for sharing the news with us. Ulrich did also ask that we pass along his gratitude to Samual L. for his time and autographs. Hopefully, he reads TFN regularly and will get the message :)

The Clone Wars R2-D2 No. 8 Posted By Dustin on July 19, 2008: I scored one of the new Clone Wars R2-D2's recently and have just added a nice photo gallery for all of those who have been afraid to open it. So far, I'm really diggin' this figure, both in design and function. There's a pop on third leg, and rocket boosters, two front door panels with fold up arms, a pop up sensorscope, and one more cool feature you'll have to see the video for. Check out this action packed Artoo right here at R2D2Central.com!
