Last weekend Rick McCallum did a Q&A session while attending Star Wars Weekends at Disney. In it he revealed a few tidbits we all think you should hear.
The following email best sums it up. Thanks to Fan of TheForce.net, Bruce for the details!
"I'm sure I'm only one of several who have already written to you about the first Star Wars Weekend of the season at MGM, but just in case no one has, I thought I'd drop you a quick note about a couple of things Rick McCallum mentioned at one of his talks.
During the Q&A session, someone asked him if there would be a Celebration 4 in 2007 and he gave a very definite "YES"! There has been much talk and rumor concerning another Celebration, but I hadn't heard anything officially confirmed until Rick announced it this past Saturday. He said that they don't know as yet where it will be, but there will be another Celebration in 2007!
He was also asked if he could share any details concerning the new Star Wars televison series that's in development. His respone? "NO". A man of few words I must say! He basically repeated what we all know already that it will take place between Episodes 3 and 4 (the time in which Luke Skywalker is growing up), be more character driven and much darker. Also, it will be filmed digitally like the movies. That's about all he'd say.
They're still planning on making a fourth Indiana Jones adventure (much applause at the mention of this) as we all know, but again, not much in the way of details. It was great seeing Warwick Davis (the M.C.) don the famous fedora and grab a whip as he made a pitch to take over for the aging Harrison Ford!
No exact date on the release of the Star Wars films in 3D. They are planning on doing all six, but they're still waiting for more theater chains to catch up with the current digital technology and install the digital projectors required."
