Charm Signing
developed on the planet Coruscant, charm signing is a communication method that uses hand signals. Confined to the wealthier families and, later, those with close ties to the Imperial bureaucracy, charm singing involved a series of hand motions to convey a message. In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor, charm signing was used almost exclusively by supporters of the New Order. Many of the New Republic's supporters feared that it would simply become another way for beings to miscommunicate with each other.
