this adopted daughter of Imperial Governor Tork Winger was a strong supporter of the underground Alliance cell on Garos IV. A native of the planet Janara III, Alex was the biological daughter of Matt Turhaya. Alex was adopted by Winger when she was just six, after the Empire destroyed her homeworld. She was rescued by the soldier named Chance, who turned her over to Adalric Brandl, who hoped to bring her into the fold of the Dark Jedi because of her sensitivity to the Force. In her youth, she was loved by Tork, in contradiction to the harsh reality of the Empire. She witnessed the evil of the Empire many times, and by the time she was fifteen she had decided that the Alliance needed to unseat Emperor Palpatine. When Jaalib Brandl tried to kill Alex and her father, she called upon the Force to save Tork's life. She also explained to her father that she was supporting the resistance on Garos IV, a fact which Tork accepted. After the New Republic liberated Garos IV, Alex and her father remainde on the planet ot help the Garosians recover their lives. She quietly rose through the ranks of the resistance on Garos IV and, later, the New Republic, eventually becoming a Captain in the Republic's Navy. She commanded the Webley during Garm Bel Iblis' assault on the Ubiqtorate station at Yaga Minor, in an attempt to obtain a copy of the Caamas Document.
