Horm, Threkin

this native of the planet Fedalle was typical of his culture. He didn't care who was in control of the galaxy, as long as he and his people were taken care of. He vaguely supported Emperor Palpatine during the New Order, and similarly gave vague support to Mon Mothma after the establishment of the New Republic. He had many contacts within the industrial circles of the Core, which allowed him to maintain a powerful position among the New Republic's councillors. Horm's general attitude was to "go with the flow" of things, but he could be ruthless and overbearing when he wished. It was for this reason that he pressed Leia Organa to enter a marriage with Prince Isolder of Hapes, hoping to cement an allegiance for Alderaan as well as for the Republic. Horm was an obese man confined to a repulsorchair, and his thinning hair was kept meticulously curled. To signify his position, Horm wore a number of large, jewel-studded rings on his chubby fingers. Horm was also the president of the Alderaanian Council. As such, he was revered by the expatriots of Alderaan who survived the Galactic Civil War. Note that he was called Hrekin Thorm in Dark Apprentice.
