this woman was one of Imperial Intelligence's most valuable agents, although no one was ever sure where she had come from. She didn't graduate from the Imperial Academy, nor was she ever involved with COMPNOR. Nevertheless, she proved herself to be an excellent agent who could interrogate any being and discover the location of rebellious cells. In reality, though, Strange was actually the Alliance agent Jan Ors, who had been honored with the Nebula Award at least once for her work as Jan Strange. She used her interrogations as a way to pass information to the Alliance, having arranged for the rebel to be captured and brought to her.
