this Bothan female was one of the New Republic Intelligence agents sent to meet Major Showolter aboard the Queen of Empire, during the transfer of the Yuuzhan Vong priestess Elan to Coruscant. She had been working on Ord Mantell before being assigned to the mission. The mission was compromised by a source internal to the New Republic, and the Peace Brigade infiltrated the ship. Two members of the Peace Brigade contacted Showolter before Saiga and her partner, Jode Tee, and posed as the NRI agents. Jode and Saiga arrived just after the false agents, and a firefight broke out. Both Jode Tee and Saiga Bre'lya were shot and killed in the struggle.
