a female Sullustan, Huoba Neva had two strikes against her when she joined the Imperial Academy. As the daughter of a SoroSuub executive, she easily gained acceptance and quickly distinguished herself. She rose quickly, but never seemed to be able to obtain a command of her own, in the Imperial Navy. Eventually, the pro-Human Imperial doctrine started to sink in, and Huoba started thinking about joined the Alliance. Sian Tevv had told Ackbar about her outstanding accomplishments, and Ackbar needed good starship commanders, so she was accepted into the Alliance. She became the youngest Republic warship commander following the victory in the Illoud System, and she was given command of the Rebel Star. Huoba Neva perished when the ship collided with the burned-out hull of a Star Destroyer as it emerged from hyperspace near Coruscant. The Rebel Star was part of the small New Republic fleet sent to rescue the crew of the Liberator, and the Republic mourned her passing.
