Hammertong Project
this was the codename of the development project assigned the task of upgrading the primary laser cannons used to form the superlasers for the Death Star projects. Hammertong was begun during the final stages of the Clone Wars, when Chancellor Palpatine secretly dispatched the 501st Legion to Mygeeto to acquire an experimental power source. Just before the Battle of Yavin, the project was going to move its base. The scientists hoped to enlist Manda D'ulin's Mistryls to help keep the base secure, but the Empire didn't like the idea. It killed Manda and Pav D'armon when they attempted to enter the base. However, Shada D'ukal and the surviving Mistryls managed to steal the laser cannons and carry it to Tatooine.
