LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars

Rolling with BB-8

“You’ll never fit in that ship…”

We start off in the hangar of the Raddus where Moxie and Ka-Pao have a front row seat to the First Order picking off the remaining Resistance ships. This is a familiar scene to you if you’ve seen The Last Jedi. While Moxie should be focused on the task at hand, she can’t help but think about her dear friend Roger who was last seen being kidnaped by Graballa’s henchman Pru Sweevant. Problem is they have no idea where he is and Lieutenant Mundu won’t approve a rescue mission given their current state of near annihilation.

Cut to Graballa’s resort where Roger is in chains and the Hutt is trying to extract from him the location of Anakin Skywalkers Jedi Starfighter. We last saw it in the short “It Gets Ugly” where Pace and Roger had to abandon it on a planet full of Rancors. So far, Roger is holding his own and not offering anything up.

Of course, the reason they want the ship is because Kylo Ren needs it to complete his collection of his grandfather’s artifacts. Captain Phasma calls to check on Graballa’s progress and is appalled at his lack of results, so she’s coming to Canto Bight to interrogate Roger herself.

Graballa is called away on Resort business, squid ink in the pool, so Roger pulls a Jedi mind trick on Raam and Baash, luring them into a fight with each other. He takes the opportunity to call Moxie and tell her he’s on Canto Bight. Moxie and Ka-Pao, against Mundu’s wishes, leave the Resistance to rescue Roger.

As they are approaching Canto Bight, they are shot down by Phasma who arrives at the same time. They end up in the water and must swim to shore. Once on land, they run into a dress code and aren’t allowed in to Graballa’s resort. An idea to bet on fathiers fails since they have no credits but lucky for them, they run into BB-8 who is there with Finn and Rose of course. He gives them enough credits to buy some nice clothes, so they can get in. Moxie’s outfit is a nod to her Aunt Kordi’s in the episode “The Embersteel Blade” where she was posing as the Clawdite princess from Zolan.

They make their way up the stairs where they think Roger is being held. Meanwhile, Phasma is already up there talking to Graballa who is looking to recoup any expenses incurred while going after Roger. She explains the First Order takes what it wants and doesn’t pay. Graballa, spotting Moxie and Ka-Pao in the back, tips off Phasma to their presence and they are caught by the troopers. Graballa explains he knew they were there based on their scent, something apparently Hutts are good at.

“The Fathier Flight of Canto Bight…”

In an escape attempt, Roger throws Moxie one of his legs and she takes out a few troopers with it, they make a run for it. They are eventually surrounded by Phasma and her squad and all seems lost but then, just as in The Last Jedi, the fathier stampede provides the distraction they need to escape. Poor Graballa, who didn’t get insurance, is witness to his beloved resort now destroyed.

Phasma throws Roger into a speeder and they take off with Moxie and Ka-Pao close behind who are now riding a fathier. During the chase, Roger is thinking out loud about how he’s going to make this entry into his biography, “From Trenches to Wrenches, Volume 2” and Phasma gets the idea to use that to locate the planet where the Jedi Starfighter is. She does so then throws Roger aside, not needing him anymore.

He explains to Moxie what this whole thing as been about, the Jedi Starfighter, and that it once belonged to her grandfather. They need to get back to the Resistance but realize they don’t have any way to do that since their ship was destroyed.

The end.

Resistance on the Run

“That battle droid’s biography may be horribly written, but it’s accurate…”

This half starts off on the unknown Rancor planet where the First Order is in a full-scale battle against a very large crash of Rancors. Phasma is there hoping to retrieve the Jedi Starfighter Roger led them to in the previous part.
Back on Cantonica, Moxie, Ka-Pao and Roger are wondering how they are going to get off the planet with no ship. They are on the beach and fortunately come across their old ship that was shot down, so they repair it and get on their way. There is a Max Reebo reference shoved in here as well.

Back to the Rancor planet, the First Order is being overrun but Phasma has spotted the Jedi Starfighter and performs what can only be described as parkour, to get to it, narrowly avoiding being eaten. She jumps in the ship, grabs the hyperspace ring and takes off, bringing the prize back to Kylo Ren.

Moxie and the group have returned to the Raddus and are shocked to see the damage the Resistance has taken at the hands of the First Order. They see Phasma returning with the Starfighter that once belonged to Pace, Moxie’s grandfather and she’s determined to get it back thinking it will help the Resistance. Roger of course is skeptical, but they literally have nothing to lose.

They crash their shuttle into the Supremacy’s hangar and take out a couple of Stormtroopers, stealing their uniforms in the process. They head off into the ship pretending to have Roger as their captive, looking for the Jedi Starfighter. At one point, we get a glimpse of Finn, Rose, DJ and BB-8 who are on their way to shutting down the Supremacy’s tracking system. They get pointed in the direction of the interrogation wing instead and take a turbolift that puts them in Snoke’s throne room! We catch a glimpse of Rey and Kylo Ren fighting the Praetorian Guards from The Last Jedi.

“We are the Resistance…”

They course correct but end up in another hangar surrounded by First Order guards. An officer surmises what they came for and things are looking bleak. Moxie, pushing her luck, is waiting for another “fathier” type moment to save them. Instead we get the scene from The Last Jedi where Holdo hyper-drives the Raddus straight down the middle of the Supremacy, causing all sorts of destruction and chaos.

Moxie uses the distraction to get the Jedi Starfighter and take off with Ka-Pao and Roger. They are instantly followed by some Tie Fighters as they ditch the hyperdrive ring for better manoeuverability. They take out a bunch of Tie’s and then notice the Millennium Falcon off in the distance as it makes its way to Crait to gather up the remaining Resistance members. Only trouble is, the Falcon, now piloted by Rey and Chewbacca, has got a squad of fighters on its tail.

Moxie radio’s Chewbacca to tell him they’ll help knock out some of the Tie’s, so they can get to Crait. Unfortunately, they take some heavy damage and if not for some amazingly emotional heroics from Roger, would have been destroyed for sure. As it stands, they were able to destroy the remaining Tie’s, save the Falcon, get to the hyperspace ring, and make it to a nearby moon.

For a moment, they are unable to reach General Organa or any other members and think they may be what’s left of the Resistance. Still not ready to give up, they begin to fix the starfighter when they get a call from Organa who is looking for any Resistance members still out there. Moxie tells her they are alive and ready to help rebuild.

Leia tells them to stay the course and wait for her rendezvous point coordinates as Rey, Finn, Chewbacca, Poe, R2-D2, C-3PO, BB-8 and a few Porgs appear along with her. Moxie and the team get to work repairing the ship.

The very end.
