New Report Says Episode VII Will Not Film In New Mexico

Posted by Eric on September 25, 2013 at 06:28 PM CST

The ReelNM blog at the The Albuquerque Journal is reporting that "New Mexico was never on the list for" Star Wars Episode VII, contradicting reports from One Headlight Ink and Latino Review, the latter of which had suggested that New Mexico filming would take place in or around the city of Las Cruces.

"Looks like the closest 'Star Wars' will come to the Land of Enchantment is the Darth Vader hot-air balloon at Balloon Fiesta," ReelNM's Adrian Gomez quips.

Lucasfilm isn't commenting on this rumor. All we know for certain is that production will take place next year in London.
