Mashable Previews The Making Of Star Wars eBook Bonus Footage

Posted by Eric on October 22, 2013 at 09:12 AM CST

In case you haven't picked up J.W. Rinzler's Making of Star Wars, Empire, and Jedi eBooks, Mashable has a new behind-the-scenes movie clip to show you. This one comes from the scene where Luke and Leia swing across the Death Star chasm after she kisses him "for luck":

You can see Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher practicing their moves, doing the difficult scene flawlessly and then jumping ... onto a crash mat that was right in front of them.

Lucas has said that he wanted to cut the kiss, but his then-wife Marcia one of the movie's three Academy Award-winning editors persuaded him to keep it in. However, he did cut the rest of that line: "For luck. We're going to need it."
Click here to watch the clip. There's a lot more where that came from -- including twenty-six minutes of video clips, new cast and crew audio interviews, and more set photos -- in the making-of eBooks. They're available now in the Apple and Amazon eBook stores.
