Latino Review Follows Up On Some Star Wars Film Rumors

Posted by Eric on January 17, 2014 at 08:16 AM CST

A few days after The Hollywood Reporter created some major buzz with its mega rumor report, everybody's favorite rumor-mongers at Latino Review are back in the game with some follow-ups to THR's scoops.

Regarding the Arndt/Abrams disagreement over the character emphasis in Episode VII, Latino Review says that THR's version of the story has it wrong. "We've heard that Arndt was much more into the story of the Solo kids, while JJ felt – and still feels – that this the story of the Skywalker line," LR's Kellvin Chavez writes. "Mark Hamill's part has been beefed up so much he might end up shooting 6 months on the movie, our source estimated."

As for any Kenobi offspring appearing in the movie, Latino Review says that that's also wrong. "We're told that it's absolutely not true," Chavez says of the THR-originated rumor. However, Latino Review has heard that "the Kenobi family will come into play. Could be niece nephew, no real details on that one. It could be a Force Ghost or a something else, we just know it's not his daughter or grandkid."

They also address some other rumors that have been floating around, such as TheWrap's claim that Jesse Plemons is going through the casting process. According to Latino Review, Plemons is "basically a locked deal," although Disney is not expected to confirm his part when they reveal his involvement. And then there's this: "Plemons' character would be the main protagonist of Episode VIII." If Abrams is focusing on the Big Three in VII and the kids will take center stage in VIII, this suggests that Plemons really will be playing Luke Skywalker's son.

It wouldn't be a rumor report without a Boba Fett spinoff rumor, and Latino Review doesn't disappoint:

To counter-act the prequels, the Boba Fett spin-off movie planned for 2018 has an interesting twist pitched by Episode VII writer Lawrence Kasdan: the spin-off will start with a complete stranger killing Boba Fett and taking his armor, starting a Man-With-No-Name bounty hunter tale. So: someone kills the Boba Fett from the prequels and takes his armor and name. One thing is for certain is that Kasdan didn’t like the prequel and wants no Bobba Fett Clone in the spin-off film.
As always, take Latino Review's rumors with a grain of salt.
