Star Wars: Complete Vehicles - Incredible Cross-Sections New Edition

TFN Review: Star Wars: Complete Vehicles - Incredible Cross-Sections New Edition

Posted by Adam on November 11, 2020 at 10:33 PM CST

November 3rd saw the release of a new edition of Star Wars: Complete Vehicles - Incredible Cross-Sections, that includes two exclusive cross-sections.

The last edition of this title was released way back in 2013, and even when taking into account the eternity that has been 2020, a lot has happened in the Star Wars universe during those 7 years!

While we have seen some incredible cross-sections in the interim, most notably in Star Wars The Force Awakens: Incredible Cross-Sections and Star Wars The Last Jedi: Incredible Cross-Sections and a handful of other releases from DK, Star Wars: Complete Vehicles - Incredible Cross-Sections pulls all of that together in one handy volume, with the addition of the aforementioned exclusive cross-sections in the form of The Knights of Ren's Night Buzzard and the Sith Star Destroyer, both of which were seen in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker.

The book opens with a foreword from Rob Bredow, Executive Creative Director and Head of Industrial Light & Magic and a brief introduction that describes vehicle technology such as hyperdrives, sensors and shields. Along with a glossary, index and acknowledgements, the remainder of the book is split into three fairly-evenly spread sections, The Republic Era, The Imperial Era and The Rise of the First Order.

Ranging from single-person speeders to multi-crew starships, Star Wars: Complete Vehicles - Incredible Cross-Sections runs the gamut of vehicles that were designed for the Skywalker saga and along with the stunning illustrations and for some, a few stills from the movie, readers are also treated to a wealth of background information that delves into great detail, as well as a data file that provides high-level specifications.

Spanning 264 pages, and with contributions from a half-dozen authors and close to the same number of artists, Star Wars: Complete Vehicles - Incredible Cross-Sections is full of in-depth nuggets and sumptuous illustrations for fans to pore over for hours on end.

Star Wars: Complete Vehicles - Incredible Cross-Sections by Kerrie Dougherty, Jason Fry, Pablo Hidalgo, David West Reynolds, Curtis Saxton and Ryder Windham, illustrated by Richard Chasemore, Hans Jenssen, John R. Mullaney, Kemp Remillard and Jon Hall is priced $40.00 in the U.S. and $52.00 in Canada.

As always, a big thanks to DK Canada, whose Star Wars books you can check out here. For all of your monthly roundup of Star Wars publishing news, commentary, and discussion on the latest releases in the realm of novels, comics, and magazines, don't forget to listen to Jedi Journals.
