Rumor: Disney Considering Ryan Gosling, Zac Efron For Episode VII?

Posted by Eric on July 24, 2013 at 05:46 PM CST

Kellvin Chavez of entertainment website Latino Review has a report about Disney throwing around two big names for Episode VII: Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron. Chavez's report also claims that Leonardo DiCaprio was in talks with Disney for a role in the film, but that he dropped out to do a movie based on the Robotech universe. The report offers no further details beyond the names.

Let me just say right off the bat that I don't believe this rumor. That being said, its source, Latino Review, has a pretty good track record. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with casting.

Can you see Ryan Gosling in a Star Wars movie? What about Zac Efron (who has already appeared in Star Wars TV as the voice of Anakin Skywalker in Robot Chicken Star Wars Episode III)? Sound off in the comments.

UPDATE: Ryan Gosling's representatives have denied that he is under consideration for a role in Episode VII, telling The Huffington Post, "This is not true."
