NEWARK, N.J. (December 9, 2015) – The New Jersey Devils will celebrate the nation-wide fervor for the opening of the latest Star Wars movie – Star Wars: The Force Awakens – on Friday, December 11 with Devils Star Wars Night as the team faces the Detroit Red Wings at 7 p.m. at Prudential Center.

Fans who purchase tickets at NewJerseyDevils.com/starwars will receive a special edition Devils Star Wars Night t-shirt. A limited number of t-shirts will also be available at the game. A special Devils Star Wars Night poster, featuring Andy Greene, Cory Schneider, Adam Henrique and Patrik Elias, will be handed out with the purchase of $25 or more in the Devils Den throughout the game and a limited number of autographed posters will be given away on Twitter @NHLDevils using #RelentlessWeAre.

“We’re thrilled to give Devils fans a new, unique way to cheer on our club and create an exciting and memorable moment at Prudential Center,” said Daniel Cherry III, New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer. “We believe The Force will give us a new level of home ice advantage Friday at The Rock and look forward to New Jersey fully embracing its #RelentlessWeAre Jedi spirit.”

All fans in attendance will have the opportunity to take photos with Star Wars characters, who will be stationed throughout the main concourse at Prudential Center during the game. Fans will also have the chance to create personalized Star Wars photos outside of Section 8 that can be posted on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Fans are encouraged to dress up in Star Wars costumes, but replica firearms will not be permitted in the building.

During the night, the entire game presentation will be Star Wars-themed, from the recreation of the classic Star Wars scroll and music selection to player headshots and in-bowl graphics. Prudential Center ushers will sport lightsabers for the night and Devils mascot NJ Devil will channel his best Obi Wan Kenobi during the game.

Friday night is also the Devils and Prudential Center’s annual Toy Drive benefitting the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Fans are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys, including Star Wars toys, to help less fortunate New Jersey families celebrate the holidays. Fans who donate two or more toys will receive a voucher for two tickets to an upcoming Devils home game. Proceeds from the game’s 50/50 raffle will also benefit Toys for Tots.
