Mark Hamill Discusses The Force Awakens In Interviews For Kingsman: The Secret Service

Posted by Eric on January 16, 2015 at 04:25 PM CST

Mark Hamill spoke to several media outlets during a Thursday night fan screening of the movie Kingsman: The Secret Service, in which he has brief cameos. Of course, each interview includes the obligatory Star Wars: The Force Awakens questions.

“I can't describe the feeling, the déjà vu of walking onto the Millennium Falcon, remembering all these details that they've gotten exactly right," Hamill told Extra's Adam Weissler. "It still seems surreal to me and hard to believe it's actually happening."

Hamill also talked to ComingSoon.net's Silas Lesnick about the intense security surrounding The Force Awakens—he told the wearing-robes-to-avoid-drones story—and compared it to Finse, Norway, in 1979:

“We had a little of that on ‘Empire Strikes Back,’” Hamill laughed. “We were up in Finse, Norway and [someone] bribed a couple of emergency helicopter pilots that were looking for a couple that were stranded while skiing to buzz-bomb our set and take pictures. They appeared in the newspaper The Sun. They didn’t get much. They had pictures of snowmobiles and they wrote ‘Strange, alien machinery on the set of ‘Star Wars 2′!’ as they called it. It was crazy! It was just snowmobiles with really identifiable logos on the side.”
