British Politician Joins R2-D2, Episode VII Execs For A Photo At Pinewood

Posted by Eric on June 11, 2014 at 12:41 AM CST

Keen to tout the economic benefits of hosting production on Star Wars films for the next ten years, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne (the equivalent of the U.S. Treasury Secretary) tweeted that he was at Pinewood Studios today and that Lucasfilm's presence in London represented a "#LongTermEconomicPlan in a galaxy far far away."

Osborne also tweeted a photo of himself, Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and a certain special droid standing in front of a set at Pinewood.

Some have said that the partially constructed cockpit of the Millennium Falcon is visible in the background, but this photo was taken today, and the sets have been done for some time.
