R2-KT Will Be Making A Cameo In The Force Awakens

It was supposed to be a secret, but a behind-the-scenes feature shown at San Diego Comic Con this summer (see attached screen shot) let the womp-rat out of the bag: R2-KT will be making a cameo in The Force Awakens! Mary Franklin of Lucasfilm asked me to pitch the idea to Kathleen Kennedy, and after hearing the story of our pink ambassador of hope Lucasfilm requested we ship her off to London early last year. Quick repairs were made and off she went for six months. Now we are told by JJ Abrams himself that R2-KT is in fact going to make a very brief appearance in the background during one scene. No details, but our girl is in Star Wars!!!

Our family is joined by countless thousands of Star Wars fans who will thrill at seeing R2-KT finally join the cinema Star Wars family. In celebration, Juan Jose Matamoros designed this gorgeous emblem to showcase KT and BB-8 at the movies. And who would they want to see up there but Chewbacca himself! Peter and Angie Mayhew loved Katie and even helped sponsor her Make-A-Wish trip. So we wanted to celebrate Peter's return to the screen too!
