iSaber For Your iPhone

Posted By Dustin on September 11, 2008

Mike gives us a heads up to a story posted at Gizmodo. Here's a brief snippet.

"Although it's a super- early beta and doesn't really work all that well, this iSaber app actually turns your iPhone into a lightsaber. The developer, who made the MacSaber and the WiiSaber, has tapped into the iPhone's accelerometer and designed the app to have your phone make lightsaber noises when you swing it around like a nerdy Canadian."

Click here for more and if you're an iPhone owner there's a link to download the app!

UPDATE: Our friend Eric sent over the following:

"With the release of third-party apps for the iPhone and iPod touch, a great little app called PhoneSaber has shown up. It features five blade colors, motion-sensitive sounds, and the ability to activate and deactivate the blade. CNET did a great little piece on it that can be found here."

Thanks Eric!

UPDATE #2: Macenstein.com reports that the PhoneSaber app. has been pulled by Lucasfilm from the iTunes store...that is until an official Star Wars brand "Saber" is created. Click here for details.

Thanks to our friend Calvin for the link!

UPDATE #3: The PhoneSaber returns to your iPhone with a vengeance in the form of the LightSaber Unleashed. From Gizmodo:

"After being voluntarily retired from the iTunes App Store, following a call by THQ Wireless, the most useless yet completely obligatory iPhone app—Phonesaber—is getting back to the store as LightSaber Unleashed. The lightsaber simulator will tie in with the new LucasArts's game, including completely new graphics, "dueling music", and characters from the game."

Thanks to Justin for the heads up!
