Jon and Brentie-Won let us know about a really well-thought out article on the hype of Star Wars in the Omaha World-Herald. Here's a clip:
Two years ago, ignoring "Star Wars" was like ignoring a wet Wookiee in an elevator. Everywhere you went, it was "Star Wars" this and "Star Wars" that. Everywhere you went with me, that is.
I was burning with prequel fever, and I wasn't the only one. Back in 1999, you couldn't pick up a magazine or a newspaper, turn on the TV or the radio, eat at Taco Bell, shop anywhere or drink a Pepsi ... without getting a generous dose of "Phantom" madness. We had waited 16 years for a new "Star Wars" movie, and we couldn't get enough.
Those giddy days seem so long ago, so far away. The next "Star Wars" movie opens in just three months. So far, no buzz. No hubbub. Just the sound of Darth Vader's heavy breathing in the first of two trailers that practically tiptoed in and out of theaters. Where are the collectible Doritos bags? Why hasn't Samuel L. Jackson made the cover of Ladies Home Journal? Why aren't people standing in line for the privilege of standing in line at a later date?
"Attack of the Clones" is the stealth sequel-prequel.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
