Wizards.com October Updates

Posted By JF on October 31, 2008

Oct.2, 2008 - Wizards of the Coast have updated their Star Wars Miniatures and Roleplaying Game webpage with a couple of new articles, the first ones for October 2008:

The first one is a Miniatures scenario titled Czerka 431 which takes place in the Knights of the Old Republic Era.

The other one is the fourth KOTOR Campaing Guide Web Enhancement. This one is about rules on how to create Heirloom Items or personalized weapons in your RPG campaign.

UPDATE (Oct,8): Wizards have posted the second round of RPG articles this month, and they are both KOTOR-related:

First is an official adventure set in the KOTOR period titled Iridonian Darkness by Sterling Hershey. It's available for free as an 18-page PDF. Here is the description:

Iridonian Darkness is a full-length adventure for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game Saga Edition. It uses the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide and the Saga Edition Core Rulebook. Both books are required to use all of the elements in this adventure. Iridonian Darkness is designed for four to six 5th-level characters, but you can adapt it for characters of other levels. The adventure takes place near the beginning of the Jedi Civil War, but you can adapt it to other time frames and locations in the Knights of the Old Republic era.

The second item is the 5th Web Enhanement for the KOTOR Campaign Guide and it gives a desciption and stats for Karnak Tetsu, Sorcerer of Tund.

UPDATE (Oct.10): Another update this week, the third Clone Wars Miniatures Preview. It details 2 new minis, Trandoshan Scavenger and Quarren Isolationist, now with RPG Saga Edition stats!

UPDATE (Oct.17): The KOTOR Campaign Guide Web Enhancement #6 is here. This time it covers Lord Adasca's ship Arkanian Legacy from the comic book series.

There is also a new installment of Planet Hoppers by Eric Cagle. This time is covers the planet Phindar and its native people the Phindians.

UPDATE (Oct.22): Two more updates this week:

A new Clone Wars Miniatures Preview showcasing Darth Sidious Hologram and Human Soldier of Fortune and including stats for a hologram chair and a generic soldier.

And the latest KOTOR Campaign Guide Web Enhancement describes a Force-using Selkath named Shasa.

UPDATE (Oct.24): The second Podcast by Rodney Thompson is now online:

In this second installment of our new podcast series, Star Wars roleplaying game designer, Rodney Thompson, talks it up with Sam Witwer, the actor who portrayed Vader’s Apprentice in the wildly popular LucasArts video game, The Force Unleashed!

UPDATE (Oct.31): Two last updates for the month of October have been posted:

Behind the Threat: The Sith (Part 4) - The Teeth in the Darkness. This article describes "the technology used by Sith, the kinds of characters that best fit in the different eras, and ways to advance beyond the Sith apprentice prestige class."

Clone Wars Miniatures Preview 5. The last preview of the newly-released set includes stat card and RPG stats for the Heavy Clone Trooper and Super Battle Droid.
