Was Hayden Ever Asked To Voice In TCW?

Posted By Mike on June 16, 2008

Though we have been hearing that some of the prequel actors will be voicing their characters in The Clone Wars (Samuel L. Jackson and Christpoher Lee), Hayden Christensen may not have been asked. Click here for a short interview clip at MTV where he mentions not thinking that any prequel actors were used for TCW.

Opinion: Can I get all conspiracy theory on you for a minute. Wishful thinking conspiracy theory at that. I think that the trailers have been giving us very little in dialogue from the big characters. We have been given tidbits at a time to wet our appetite. First we got a little from Samuel L. to get the rumor mill going. Then we got a confirmation on his involvement (not from Lucasfilm but good enough). Next we got Christopher Lee in the latest trailer which is pretty obvious, especially with the news here last week. But what about Obi-Wan and Anakin? I still contend that the brief line in the latest trailer sounds an awful lot like Ewan. It's brief and it's from a com transmission which, again, could just be to create speculation with the fans. But that is all we've heard from Obi. We have heard Anakin's voice here and there throughout the trailers but that does not mean that what we have heard is what will be in the film. Christopher Lee apparently had to do his voice dubbing with the animation complete. Someone would have had to read the lines previously right? In the age of internet rumors where we find out almost too much ahead of time, I am going to bank on Lucasfilm being pretty shrewd in their marketing and holding off on the last bits of big news: Ewan and Hayden. (Hell, what about Ian?) Take what I say with a grain of Tatooine sand, for I continually acknowledge that this is wishful thinking...but we've had no official word from Lucasfilm on the voice actors for the movie. Aren't Comic-Con and Celebration Japan coming up? Those would be 2 great venues for a big announcement.

I'll leave you with this, Samuel L. mentioned that he'd love to do a voice and he is in the film. Hayden said the same...Why would you leave him out? I personally think and hope Hayden is just playing coy in the interview above. Still too early to spill the beans.

And in the interview, doesn't he mention that he keeps up on everything that is going on with Star Wars...and that he heard about the film from Samuel L....who is in the film?!?

Thanks for taking the time to read the ramblings of someone especially hoping to hear as many of the prequel actors as we can in the film version of TCW. I'm not normally one to editorialize but it's really been on my mind as of late.
