Francis Ray Ottoman is looking for businesses to sponsor him as he camps outside a movie theatre to be first in line to buy tickets to Star Wars.
Sound familiar? It should. The inspiration for camping out struck Ottoman when he read about two Star Wars fans camping outside the Cinerama theatre in downtown Seattle, WA.
"Out of the millions of Star Wars fans around the world, only these two feel it's necessary to camp out for tickets." Says Ottoman. "They claim that it's not a publicity stunt, just a project for fun, art, and charity.'"
But Ottoman isn't buying it. "If these guys were truly doing this for fun, art and charity, they could think of a thousand more effective ways of going about it. They could earn more money for charity working part time jobs for four months than they ever could waiting in line. But you don't get free digital cameras working part time jobs. Sounds like they've gone over to the Dark Side."
Feeling that turnabout is fair play, the sixteen year old employee of PvP Magazine (dedicated to video games) decided to launch his own project. Waiting Longer for Star Wars, is an "An artistic project aimed to comment on the nation's obsession with publicity and free stuff."
"I'm actually waiting for tickets to Episode Three which hasn't been filmed yet. These guys in Seattle are totally wussing out waiting for Episode Two. I know it's crazy, but that's just the kind of dedicated Star Wars fan I am."
When asked if he realized that in waiting for Episode Three, he would miss his opportunity to see Attack of the Clones, Francis replied "I'll just download if off Morpheous the week before it opens. It's cool."
Businesses can send free stuff to francis (c/o PvP Magazine) and become a corporate sponsor of the Waiting Longer For Star Wars official website, a subsection of PvPonline.com. Seattle based ISP Speakeasy.net, a national provider of high quality DSL services, has already sponsored webspace and bandwidth for for Francis' new project.
"The main PvP site receives over 50 thousand visitors a day and 6 million pageviews a month, so sponsoring me will be at least as effective as sponsoring two dorks in Seattle. I really need and X-box. Or a Playstation 2. I didn't get either for Christmas."

I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
