Those of you who listened to the Force-Cast Live last night on Talkshoe probably heard Jason and Pete mention they are running a new "Audio Tribute to Ralph McQuarrie" contest.
Fans are encouraged to submit an audio recording expressing their appreciation for the conceptual artist who first helped uncle George bring Star Wars to life visually. Now, over thirty years later, Ralph's drawings remain some of the most stunning pieces of artwork in the Star Wars universe.
The contest winner will receive a copy of the trade edition of The Art of Ralph McQuarrie, signed by co-creators Stan Stice and John Scoleri from Dreams & Visions Press. Many of you may remember Stan & John's visit with the Force-Cast a while back, in which they gave a great interview regarding their hard work and collaboration with Ralph McQuarrie while putting this book together.
Those who wish to enter the contest should submit their audio tribute to podcast@theforce.net by no later than 12/12/07 to be eligible to win. The winner will be announced on the Force-Cast, and their audio entry will be aired live on the show.
Stan and John also wanted to let fans know that trade edition copies of "The Art of Ralph McQuarrie" can still be ordered in time for holiday delivery directly through their website checkout at www.dreamsandvisionspress.com (while supplies last). Signed editions have been sold out for quite a while now, but the fellas have set aside the last few copies of the trade edition and will offer those at the original retail price of $300.00 + shipping, to the first five(5) people to email them at info@dreamsandvisionspress.com and mention the Theforce.net, Rebelscum.com or the Force-Cast.
Thanks a lot to John & Stan for their hard work and generosity this holiday season. Get those entires in by December 12th, 2007, and good luck to everyone.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
