You might already have heard of Michael Kaminski's The Secret History of Star Wars, an in-depth analysis of the creative development of the movie saga, and its transformation from a science-fiction fairy-tale to the Tragedy of Darth Vader.

This is NOT an official Lucasfilm book. It began life as a free e-book on-line, and the author has been active on TF.N's own message-boards over the years as zombie. Now, though, it has been revised and published by Legacy Books Press.

UPDATE: a couple of extra pieces of information on The Secret History of Star Wars.

Firstly, from the middle of next week, three bookstores in Kingston, Ontario (where Legacy Books Press is based), will be stocking copies of the book: Indigo Books and Music, Novel Idea, and the Queens University Campus Bookstore.

Secondly, I've been told that the book has also been picked up as required reading for a course in the English Department at Clemson University, in South Carolina.
