IS FLATULENT FARCE A STINKER, OR COULD IT STEAL LUCAS' THUNDER?
Not everybody's willing to get out of the way of George Lucas, after all. "Star Wars: Episode II" won't have the May 16 weekend to itself, at least in Britain.
Pathe will release "Thunderpants", a comedy about a boy whose ability to cut the cheese turns him into a superhero. (Not to be confused with Val Kilmer's 1992 drama "Thunderheart". This isn't an entirely new idea: Paul Reubens (once Pee-Wee Herman) played The Spleen, a character with this "power" in the 1999 spoof "Mystery Men". But the British got the even earlier with Johnny Fartpants, a character in the alternative Viz comics of the 1980s.
We have no news as to when this film could - er, break, in the United States. We do know that the stars are Ned Beatty, Stephen Fry, and Rupert Grint, best known for playing Ron Weasley in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". And we know the tagline for the ads: "May the farts be with you". No doubt Lucas will raise a stink when he hears about it.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
