The Force Among Us Live

Posted By Mick on September 26, 2007

Our good friend Jeff Roney(www.roneyzone.com), writes in to inform everyone of an exciting, and groundbreaking episode of The Force Among Us Live. The show will seek to explore viewpoints from individuals with various religious orientations on how common themes like love, redemption, and sacrifice appear within the Star Wars saga.

Jeff was kind enough to provide an in depth explanation, and all the details below:

"Hello all, I am helping a documentary filmmaker, Cris Macht produce some podcasts, about his film, The Force Among Us (www.theforceamongus.com). Note: A trailer is on youtube.com if you click here.

It is a film that deals with Star Wars fan stereotypes, and part of the film is dedicated to religious themes in Star Wars. Cris interviewed an author, Dick Staub(www.dickstaub.com), who wrote a book called, "Christian Wisdom of the Jedi Masters".

We are dedicating an upcoming episode of "The Force Among Us - Live" Show ( http://show.tfau.net) to Religious themes in Star Wars. My goals is to pull a very mixed religious group together to discuss how they see themes like; Love, Redemption, Sacrifice, etc, in the Star Wars saga. Dick Staub has agreed to be live, on the show, too. We will be using TalkShoe; Which, simply, is the combining of a Conference Call and Online Text Chatting. All participants will be able to talk, ask questions, etc.

Now, I know we are all busy, but I would ask (Plead, if I have to) for you all to make it. I would also ask for you to RSVP me ( jeff.roney@gmail.com), and let me know that you will be attending, so we have an idea how many to expect. Note: We have alot of room for participants, so don't worry.

One more thing, I know many of you have friends, family, acquaintances, listeners, groups, etc who would love to be a part of this discussion on the show. Therefore, please pass this information on to any people you know who might be interested.
This will be a groundbreaking event, and we need as many people as possible to attend.

One last thing, I want everyone to feel comfortable sharing how they feel from their perspective, so I will promise- there will be no religion-bashing allowed. I am the Mute-button master (I passed a course, and everything).
