Star Wars Novels Updates Posted By Mike on October 11, 2008
Sue Rostoni has been dishing out a number of Star Wars novel tidbits lately on the main site message boards and blogs. Here's a rundown of the latest...
Sue updated her 2009-2011 release schedule. (Going to have to wait until March 2010 for TCW #4. Darth Bane #3 and FOTJ #3 & 4 have been adjusted as well) When asked if we really had to wait 11 months between TCW #3 and #4, Sue responed"Yes, you have to wait that long. You can read other things in the meantime...... "
Michael Reaves' and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff's paperback, due out June 2011 and "featuring a promising holostar - a rags to riches story set against the backdrop of the early days of the Rebellion" is to be set 2 years B.B.Y.
"We've approved cover concepts for Army of the Dead and Blood Oath -- I love Blood Oath as it features Zekk in a very manly pose, looking ruggedly handsome. He's certainly not the boy we once knew."
"Luke is going to be on the cover of OUTCAST -- we had a really good meeting last week and the cover direction for TotJ is going to depart a bit from our other SW books. The logo will still be up top with the series title under it, but from there down it's a bit different.... More dynamic and iconish rather than a painted like a photo. I know there's a lot of debate about covers so I sure don't expect everyone to like it, but we like it here and it's very cool. Won't be ready for posting for a while yet, though, as we picked only the look of the cover(s) and not the final art."
"It will continue to be a mix of characters. I imagine the younger characters will have more page time, but we'll see as the story progresses."
Finally, Sue also mentioned that the Old Repoublic era novel by Alex Irvine and featuring Nomi Sunrider will cover mostly new territory as opposed to rehashing material from older TOTJ comics.
