The Battle For the Galaxy Rages in 2007 Wizards of the Coast Announces 30th Anniversary Slate of Star Wars Hobby Game Products
Renton, Wash. (May 31, 2007) -- Wizards of the Coast, the world leader in hobby gaming and a subsidiary of Hasbro Inc. (NYSE: HAS), today announced the 2007 product lineup for its popular Star Wars? Miniatures game and Star Wars? Roleplaying game.
?The rich settings of the Star Wars universe have captured the imaginations of gamers for 30 years,? said Sarah Haines, Brand Manager for Star Wars at Wizards of the Coast. ?Wizards is excited to continue our part of this enduring tradition this year and beyond.?
150 unique figures fill a robust Star Wars Miniatures lineup in 2007.
The action starts this month with the release of Alliance & Empire? (MSRP $14.99), a 60-figure, booster-only expansion composed of iconic characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of that epic filmmaking achievement, each figure in the first print run of Alliance & Empire is fixed on a special, square-base emblazoned with a metallic silver Star Wars logo. Subsequent printings of Alliance & Empire will revert to the customary round figure bases.
Coming in June, Rebels and Imperials? (MSRP $4.99) features the re-release of some of the most popular minis from previous Star Wars Miniatures game products. This set of 24 figures is packaged in two-figure boosters, fully randomized with varying degrees of rarity to enhance collectability.
Those new to the Star Wars Collectable Miniatures game (CMG) can get their start in the world of Star Wars gaming with the Star Wars Miniatures Starter Set (MSRP $14.99), available in July. The first new Starter for the Star Wars CMG since 2005 contains everything needed for two-players to engage in epic space combat right out of the box, including: 6 non-randomized figures (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Rebel Captain, Rebel Heavy Trooper, Elite Stormtooper and Heavy Stormtrooper), a fold-out battle map, instruction booklet, one d20? die and more!
From the halls of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to the Emperor?s throne tower aboard the Death Star, Star Wars Miniatures can battle from sector to sector with Galaxy? Tiles (MSRP $12.95), available in November. This set of 6, double-sided, cardstock sheets of die-cut terrain tiles allows players to construct customized battle surfaces. Galaxy Tiles are also compatible with Star Wars Roleplaying Games.
Fans will score a 3-D preview of LucasArts?s highly-anticipated 2008 video game titled ?Star Wars: The Force Unleashed? with this November?s Star Wars Miniatures expansion of the same name. The Force Unleashed? (MSRP $21.99) is a 60-figure, booster-only set drawn from the Star Wars ?expanded universe? of comics, novels and video games. In addition, fourteen (isn?t it fifteen?) of the figures in this set represent iconic characters from the game that will be available to fans for the first time ever, and an additional 10 are ?huge? figures!
Classic Star Wars? RPG titles receive a much-anticipated update in 2007.
Coming in June, the Saga Edition core rulebook (MSRP $39.95) for the Star Wars RPG updates the only Star Wars d20 system to now include material from all six feature films. Rules for incorporating Star Wars Miniatures into play are also included, while full backward compatibility with all previously published Star Wars RPG supplements is maintained.
Player-Characters can take the helm of everything from a tramp freighter to Executor-class Super Star Destroyer with Starships of the Galaxy? (MSRP $34.95), available in December. Options for building custom starships, space combat rules and new character classes highlight this 160-page, hardbound rules supplement for the Star Wars RPG. Schematics and deck plans for the most popular starships from each of the six feature films, in addition to the expanded universe of Star Wars comics, novels and video games, are included in this December release, which is an update of the original, 2001 title.

They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
