The Star Wars Galaxies FAQ was updated with a variety of entries, including questions asked and answered from Tuesday's Developer Chat. Even though I have yet to play an MMORPG to an extent where I could say that "I've played the game", I've logged many hours observing my roommate play Dark Age of Camelot, while discussing how MMORPG systems work. I am absolutely falling in love with what Sony Online is doing with Star Wars Galaxies. It's going to be extremely different, and can I say, the best looking MMORPG, ever?
5.20 How will the economy in Star Wars Galaxies differ from other online games?
Perhaps the biggest difference between the economy in SWG and other games is that there are almost no NPCs or other server systems that purchase goods from the player. This means that if you want to make money through manufacturing items, you should make items that other players want or need. In order to help manufacturers get their goods to potential customers, we intend to provide systems that facilitate buying and selling between players, including player-run vendors as well as commodities markets.
I think that is too cool. People will actually have to create useful items, instead of reselling crafted items, in bulk, back to a NPC (Non-Playable Character controlled by server). Be sure to read up on all the other ways they are working to make this a very fair and realistic game.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
