Star Wars Book News From Random House

Posted By Eddie on December 18, 2010

Random House released their 2011 Summer catalogs, ready for download, here. Browsing through them, there were several new tidbits to mention. Here's what the Summer 2011 hardcover catalog promises us (complete with covers):

Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Conviction (May 24, 2011), page 73 of the catalog

While Luke and Ben Skywalker continue their exploration of the mystery known as Abeloth with their unlikely Sith allies, the galaxy is abuzz with the trial of former Jedi Knight Tahiri Veila. This moment when the fate of the Jedi might be determined is close at hand, as the exiled Grand Master works to find a reason
behind the madness afflicting the Jedi, while those charged with keeping the Order intact struggle against a Republic that seems to have already declared their verdict in the only court that matters: the court of public opinion. Conviction begins the mini-trilogy that will leave readers breathlessly waiting to see how the
bestselling Fate of the Jedi series ends.

Star Wars: Heir to the Empire: 20th Anniversary Edition (June 21, 2011), page 74 of the catalog

The 20th anniversary edition of the #1 New York Times bestselling novel that jump-started two decades of Star Wars publishing--more than 2.3 million copies in print!
This special edition is updated and annotated and contains a brand-new short story.
In 1991, at a time when there had been no new Star Wars novels in eight years and none at all continuing the story of the saga past the events of the original movie trilogy, a brand-new novel burst on the scene: Heir to the Empire, the first book of the Thrawn Trilogy, by Hugo Award-winning author Timothy Zahn. The cover boldly announced "The Saga Continues," and the novel, which was set five years after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and introduced the wildly popular blue-skinned, red-eyed character known as Grand Admiral Thrawn, shot to the #1 spot on the New York Times hardcover bestseller list.
Now, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this publishing phenomenon, here is a special edition, annotated throughout by the author and including a brand-new, never-before-published short story featuring Grand Admiral Thrawn!

EU.Cantina discovered the preliminary cover yesterday.

Star Wars: Choices of One (July 19, 2011), page 78 of the catalog

A brand-new treat for fans of #1 New York Times bestselling Star Wars author Timothy Zahn: a classic Star Wars adventure set in the time between Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, featuring Luke, Han, Leia, and Mara Jade!
2011 marks the 20th anniversary of the publication of Star Wars: Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn, the #1 New York Times hardcover bestseller that relaunched the entire Star Wars publishing program. To celebrate this historic event, Zahn returns to Star Wars with a brand-new novel of adventure, action, and intrigue starring the young Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, and the beloved Mara Jade!

Star Wars: Essential Guide to Warfare (August 16, 2011), page 88 of the catalog

A new, never-before-published entry in our series of extremely popular Star Wars Essential Guides. The Essential Guide to Warfare is the book Star Wars fans have been waiting for, and will be presented with astonishing full-color artwork throughout!
Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare will be the first Essential Guide devoted entirely to all aspects of the various militaries and major battles fought throughout the history of the Star Wars universe. All ground will be covered, including material from the films, The Clone Wars TV series, books, comics, and video games.

Exciting! Bring on 2011!!!
