Voice actor Tom Kenny, who you may know from SpongeBob SquarePants, Transformers: Animated, Handy Manny and much more, was interviewed over at TheCultureShock.com and briefly spoke of his work with the upcoming Clone Wars series. Seems as if Tom will be voicing Nute Gunray. See the excerpt below:
"Really? It says in 1986 you did the voice for Boba Fett in ?The Great Heap? and that was your first gig (laughs).
No way. In 1986 I wasn?t even doing ? in 1986 I was wanting very badly to do voice overs but I was still years away from actually booking one (laughs). Ironically I am doing stuff for the new upcoming ?Clone Wars? that Lucas is doing. I have never been Boba Fett, although that would be nice. Once you do something for Lucas, you?re assured that you can at least make a living going to conventions for the rest of your life (laughs). If you ever need to do the circuit of sci-fi conventions, it?s there for you. In ?Star Trek? there?s no character too obscure to make a living at a sci-fi convention. I was the fourth Klingon from the left on the season two of ?Star Trek.? (laughs).
I own a Stormtrooper costume (laughs).
I love ?Star Wars? too, man. I really wanted to be in that Cartoon Network ?Clone Wars? series and I never booked anything on it. I auditioned for some stuff in this newer one and I wound up playing, not one of the major characters but, what the heck is his name? One of those from the newer trilogy. Those semi-Asian trade federation guys? Nute Gunray.
Yeah, the Viceroys.
?They are becoming too powerful? (imitates Viceroy). I?d rather be someone cool with a light saber, but that?s alright. I?ll take the weasel (laughs).
They sound really wise but they?re not.
Yeah, exactly. Which as we?re in the midst of a Presidential race, I can totally identify with it."
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
