Star Wars will be well represented at the Big Apple Convention?s Summer Sizzler on Saturday and Sunday, June 24-25. Matthew Wood, sound designer and the voice of General Grievous in Star Ward Episode III will be present both days. NY Jedi will be hosting the Jedi Academy, in which they will perform with and teach how to use lightsabers. At the costume contest on Saturday, hosted by Captain Zorikh and Jolie Voltaire, one of the prizes will be a Darth Maul double-ended lightsaber from Galactic Arms!

The Big Apple Convention is New York?s longest running comic book, toy, art and sci-fi event. Thousands of fans are expected to turn out to meet the celebrities and special guests, shop the dealer room and enjoy the festivities!

The Big Apple Convention is located at the Penn Plaza Pavilion, 33rd St & 7th Ave in Manhattan, NYC, across from Madison Square Garden. General admission is $10.

On Sunday, the Big Apple Con will celebrate the release of the new movie Superman Returns! Superman comic book artist and writer Jerry Ordway will be present for a Q&Q panel, to sign autographs, and greet super fans. In addition, on Sunday every attendee will get a free Superman comic and kids 12 and under get in free, and a free toy! There will also be ten pairs of tickets to Superman Returns at IMAX 3D given away on that day.

Over a dozen other celebrity guests will be appearing all weekend, including: Steven Seagal (Above the Law, Under Siege), who will be performing with his band Saturday evening, ?Rowdy? Roddy Piper (WWE Wrestling, They Live), Kathy Garver (A Family Affair), Robert Vaughn (Superman Returns, The Man from U.N.C.L.E), Michael Bailey Smith (The Hills Have Eyes 2006, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed) , Tony Moran (Michael Myers from Halloween), Steve Dash (Original Jason from Friday 13th), ?Luscious? Johnny Valiant (WWE Wrestler), Captain Lou Albano (WWE Wrestler), Big Kev (Opie and Anthony show) and many more to be announced.

For Comic Book Fans, Superman writer and artist Jerry Ordway will be present critically acclaimed creator Frank Brunner (X-Men, Creepy, Dr. Strange) will be making a special Big Apple appearance for his East Coast fans. Joe Linsner (Cry For Dawn) will be in attendance all weekend. Also appearing will be legendary Golden Age comic artists Joe Simon (who created Captain America with Jack Kirby) Irwin Hasen and Rich Buckler, comic book scholar Professor William Foster III, and cutting edge artists Joseph Michael Linser, Alex Saviuk, Bill Tucci, Michael Lark, Michael Lilly, Damion Scott, Ivan Brandon, Andy MacDonald, Rodney Ramos, Jim Keueger, Guy Dorian, and dozens more.
